Our Thanks to the Constable Collectors

A group of residents in Constable Road, Tilgate, Crawley got together earlier this year and decided that they would like to support the work of a local food bank and chose the Easter Team.

Each week when residents do their regular food shopping they put a few extra items into their trollies, such as fish, meat, cereal, fruit, veg etc. and then on a monthly basis collate them, sort them into food types and deliver them to our food store. This is a great example of community coming together to help those who are in crisis.

During December 2019 they added lots of extra special items to include in our Christmas parcels, which were very much appreciated by our clients. One couple made up an individual package, with all that a family could need and they asked that we gave this to a family of our choosing.

We would like to thank all the residents for their kindness and generosity, as it is only with the support of individuals and groups like the Constable collectors that we can do what we do throughout the year.

AIG Life – Local Business Supports those in need in Crawley  We would like to acknowledge the support shown to the Easter Team from AIG Life in Reigate. This is the second time that they have got involved in supporting our work.  Previously as part of their volunteering initiative a team of volunteers came to our food store to help sort, date check and shelve our Harvest donations.

This year they held a food collection over the Christmas period of small gifts and food items that were given out with our Christmas food parcels.    Victoria Kilford, HR & Development Manager said “ it is really great to hear about how our donations have made a difference and hopefully we can continue to support you in the future”

The AIG strapline says the best things we do in life, we do for others.  Their continued commitment to support the work of the Easter Team is really putting those words into practice.  Thank you AIG life.
